Qingdao is located at the southern tip of the Shandong Peninsula. It borders on the Yellow Sea in the southeast, adjoins Yantai in the northeast, Weifang in the west and Rizhao in the southwest. Qingdao covers a total area of 10,654 square kilometers. The urban area (including the seven districts of Shinan, Shibei, Sifang, Licang, Chengyang, Laoshan and Huangdao) measures 1,102 square kilometers and the five county-level cities (Jiaozhou, Jiaonan, Jimo, Pingdu and Laixi) accounts for 9552 square kilometers. The total population of Qingdao is 8.3867 millions.
